EIT Cross-KIC Spain Group took part in the main Spanish Innovation event

 

Málaga (Spain), 15th February.- TRANSFIERE is the professional and multisectoral forum for knowledge and technology transfer held in Spain, that shows who is who in the national and international R+D+i ecosystem. In its 7th edition the forum has been consolidated as the main Spanish innovation event.

The event, inaugurated by the president of the Andalusian Government, Susana Díaz. was attended by representatives from 30 countries and it has hosted more than 5,000 business meetings between companies.

“The real protagonists of the change in the productive model are not the governments, it is the productive fabric,” said Diaz, who added that it is the responsibility of institutions to create the appropriate environment to develop talent and entrepreneurship “in the best conditions”.

Diaz was also accompanied at the inauguration by the Mayor of Malaga, Francisco de la Torre, the Secretariat of State for Research, Development and Innovation, Carmen Vela; the president of the organizing committee, Felipe Romera, and the president of the Cotec Foundation, Cristina Garmendia.

The Secretariat of State for R&D&I, Carmen Vela stated “In Spain, science and innovation are becoming very good, and we are working for stable and foreseeable financing”.

The first round table of the forum was led by representatives of the KICs (Knowledge Innovation Communities) of the EIT (European Institute of Innovation and Technology) with a presence in Spain that took part in a dynamic debate in the Open Innovation Area. The Director of Climate-KIC Spain and EIT Cross KIC Spain Leed, José Luis Muñoz, introduced the group, pioneer in Europe, as an example of a new model to drive innovation and bring it to market.

The representatives in Spain of the EIT Food, Begoña Pérez Villareal, EIT Digital, Jesús Contreras, and  EIT Health, Irene Contreras, presented the different business and entrepreneurship opportunities offer their respective thematic areas.

EIT Cross-KIC Spain is a pioneering group in Europe that works jointly and transversally to transform talent and knowledge into new products and services capable of facing the challenges that society faces in matters such as Climate Change, Digital Innovation, Food, Health, Energy and Raw Materials.
